How it works

We don't check if a tag exists. We check if it actually fires.

Plenty of tools tell you a pixel is "installed". That's the easy part - a plugin can do it. duckmetric opens your site in a real browser and watches the network: what each platform sends, when it sends it, and whether the data inside is correct.

Home / How it works

From a URL to an answer in four steps

The free scan runs in seconds. Here's what happens behind it.

A real browser opens your page

Not a source-code grep. We render the page like a visitor's browser would, so tags injected by GTM, consent managers or your CMS all load the way they really do in production.

We watch the network requests

GA4, Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Bing, LinkedIn - we capture the calls each one makes. A script can be on the page yet never fire an event. We show you which is which.

We inspect what's inside each event

A purchase without value, currency or transaction_id is broken even if it "fires". We check parameters, duplicates, consent timing and server-side dedup (CAPI event_id).

You get a plain-English report

A clear report with a score, issues ranked by severity, business impact and technical recommendations you can hand to a developer, agency or internal team.

What the scan can - and can't - reach

We'd rather be honest about the limits than pretend a free crawl sees everything.

🌐

Free scan reaches

Page views, product views, category/list views, search, consent timing, config quality and presence across every platform - the surface and the start of the funnel.

🖱️

Interaction reaches

Add-to-cart and begin-checkout by simulating clicks - best-effort, because every shop's buttons differ.

🔒

Only a full audit reaches

Purchase and add-payment-info need a real transaction or a connected ad/analytics account. That's the full audit.

The most expensive gap - "you pay for ads but the purchase signal never arrives" - usually lives where a free crawl can't reach. We tell you that plainly, and the full audit confirms it.

Try it on your own site
